This was a good bedtime story for my six year old as we often discuss The Golden Rule which was the lesson in this story The illustrations appealed to her as she could see many animals and find the surprise in the middle that impacted the creatures of the forest Parents can also talk about you can judge a person or animal by appearances because you can only see the actions of a good hearted person or friend The self centered ones only show their ugliness by their actions to others Young readers will like the book and illustrations and independent readers will benefit from the message A little preachy for very young ones but it does make the message come out loud and clear

Beautiful Story and Excellent Teaching Tool Good stories for children are not as easily come by as they used to I remember the classic stories from when I was growing up but it seems today that most authors of children’s stories care about the illustrations than content Well Charissa Tinsley is not one of these authorsHer story is an engaging story that tells a lesson that sticks with the children making them think about it I read this to my 5 year old nephew and he totally enjoyed the story and asked uestions about it too Just 22 pages Almost the right length for a children’s book because beyond this they tend to lose interestThis book is an original and fantastic analogy and I was surprised and beyond impressed with how much I liked this story This is truly designed to help children understand the importance of kindness fairness and lending a helping hand to those in need There are plenty of illustrations for them to enjoy Totally worth the price I can’t wait for Charissa’s next book Really looking forward to it
