Return to the small town and Chesapeake shores of St Caroline in this heartwarming story about finding one’s way back to love when life throws you a curveball Deputy fire chief Oliver Wolfe had everything he ever wanted A beautiful wife two adorable if rambunctious sons a job he loved a comfortable hom I’m so used to reading about these guys who are fully loaded richbucks alpha bad guys But the guy we have here is complete opposite Oliver is a normal middle class good guy hero who is a firefighter All he had ever wanted was an average life Nothing special nothing extraordinary He didn’t need everyone to think he was smart and ambitious He didn’t need every day to be a party He wanted a wife and kids a modest house a yard in which to throw a football or a baseball with his boys a summer vacation at the beach He wanted his dad’s job someday when his father saw fit to retire It would be nice to maybe have a daughter in addition to the boysA simple responsible good guy Maybe boring for some peopleThen his wife Serena the heroine has a car accident which leaves her in coma and so she is in hospital for 4 monthsThe insurance do cover their hospital bill but still other remaining is paid by her father in law So no hero here with loads of moneyI loved Oliver He was such a good guy Yes he did had insecurities but these were totally understandableto some extent I can understand that he have doubt that his wife must have had affair before the accident view spoilerBut I hated him when he told other people like his brother or his father that his wife Had an affair How can he be so sure? Doubt is fine but being so convinced without any proof was not cool hide spoiler

Text This Reminds Me of Us

This Reminds Me of UsE and family and friends in his hometown of St Caroline Maryland until the day he has to stand by helplessly and watch his wife’s unconscious body get cut from the mangled wreckage of her carSerena Wolfe was a blissfully happy newlywed with a tall dark and handsome firefighter for a husband and a honey This book gave me ALL the feels It is an extremely emotional story that deals with heartbreak and loss in an extremely honest and heartfelt way Oliver and Serena were a happily married couple with two wonderful little boys and a baby on the way when tragedy struck Serena wakes up from a coma four months later with no memories of the last seven years This changes everything between them and puts a huge amount of stress on their family and their relationship Particularly because shortly after the accident Olliver's mother passed away after a short battle with cancer Rebuilding and finding their new normal is the name of the game for this book and truly its not clear that they were going to make it Despite loving each other very deeply the stress and grief took its toll This book is beautifully and poignantly written I really appreciated the few scenes from Mason their older son's perspective Books about married couples aren't always my catnip but this one was gorgeous and wasn't at all what I expected it to be Loved itI received an ARC of this in exchange for an honest review the opinions above are all mine
