And what about the eerie delay on his telephone a delay he senses through powers he is only beginning to understand?Rated 14 for language So I came across this book when I was searching for XMen in iBooks it was free and the characters on the cover bear a passing resemblance to my two favorite X Men Jean Grey and Scott Summers So definitely worth checking out for meXGeneration possesses a similarity to X Men in the fact that it focuses on a group of super powered teenagers and Janis Graystone and Scott Spruel are indeed very much like my favorite X Men except that Scott strives to be like his hero Cyclops The story is meandering at first in fact much of this the first book in a series is exposition We get to know Scott and Janis and the natures of their abilities then in probably the last third of the book things pick up The exposition is necessary to the development of the story even down to the bits about the Cold WarThe writing is very solid and keeps you interested throughout I had intended to take a slower pace when reading this but the story kept pulling me along and before I realized it I was finished Of course this is a book aimed at young adults so it's not very heavy and the pages practically turn themselvesI was only a year old in 1984 but I remembered things like Aua Net with fondness The kids this book is aimed at probably won't get it but their parents definitely will and they'll enjoy the story on top of it I did and I'm looking forward to reading the next book XGeneration The Watchers

Part X Files part Freaks and Geeks and totally ’80sIn the fall of 1984 Cold War tensions between Washington and Moscow are close to breakingBut in sleepy Gainesville Florida fourteen year old Janis Graystone is mainly worried about starting high school earning a spot on the varsity soccer team and keeping her older sister Goodreads Synopsis Part X Files part Freaks and Geeks and totally ’80sIn the fall of 1984 Cold War tensions between Washington and Moscow are close to breakingBut in sleepy Gainesville Florida fourteen year old Janis Graystone is mainly worried about starting high school earning a spot on the varsity soccer team and keeping her older sister from running her life And then there are her paranormal experiences Experiences where she awakens in her backyard — out of her body — with the disturbing sense that someone is watching her For Scott Spruel the start of high school means the chance to start over And he's willing to ditch everything — computer hacking Dungeons Dragons marathons even his comic book collection well except for his X Men — if it means getting closer to Janis the secret love of his life But what about the eerie delay on his telephone a delay he senses through powers he is only beginning to understand? As clocks tick down Janis and Scott will need the other's help But first they'll have to find one another and that means traversing Thirteenth Street High's caste system which can be as brutal as it is unforgiving XGeneration is a teen paranormal mystery series inspired by classic superhero comics and the 1980s My Review Honestly I really tried to like this book and although it had a good synopsis I just couldn't get into it and don't think this was a book for me First of all nothing really exciting happened until the last 5% of the book life was just completely normal for Scott and Janis for most of the story and that just didn't hook me Although X Men was referred a lot there wasn't anything in the story that reminded me of it aside from their powers and names The characters seemed too young for their age and the other characters that seemed important weren't I didn't feel worried for either Janis or Scott until the end and even then it wasn't for very long It was an awkward read the characters emotions and the way they reacted to situations seemed irrational and the background characters didn't really have anything to do with the main story I probably won't read the next book That's really all I have to say about that Check it out and see what you think Thanks for reading Radioactivebookreviewswordpresscom

You Dont Know Me XGeneration #1 From running her life And then there are her nighttime experiences Experiences where she awakens in her backyard out of her body with the disturbing sense that someone is watching herFor Scott Spruel the start of high school means the chance to start over And he’s willing to ditch everything computer hacking Dungeo X generation is about janis graystone 14 year old girl want to earn a spot in varsity football team and for Scott start of high school as change for him and he want in life and wanna get away for hacking and he secretly love Janis they gonna meet somewhere to break the taboo of caste system of 13 street which can be brutalJanis is junior her sister Margaret control and on beach guys and gals are not together they had conversations and Margaret rudely behave with guys and said them to go away and she started giving some tips to her little sister Janis that in college not to go for sturdy looking guys geeks and bad one because the reputation is gone with them around and many other tips to her and she want her sister to be save Janis share her dreams of horror with her she made fun of her and said that maybe she has problem of sleep walk Her sister told her tips about high school what to do and what not and try to guide her but she is not listening to herHonestly I like this book and find that its a bit beta version of X men series the connection between reader and story is Missing like soul from body As during nothing really exciting happened until the climax of the book came up life was normal throughout for Scott and Janis like any other characters in the novel for most of the story and that just what i am not able to digest I feel characters are too young and during whole time I didn't feel worried for either Janis or Scott until the end It was bit awkward for me the characters emotions and the way they reacted to situations seemed inappropriate and the supporting characters didn't really have a flat base nothing to do with the main story I probably have to think before reading the next part of the series
