This is the third book in a series but it is a stand alone title According to the dedication it is the first mm book by this author I am usually a little unsure about first mm efforts for an author In my experience they usually try too hard in their relationship so there is an overabundance of testosterone or they go in the other direction and one of the characters simply oozes estrogen out of their male body Surprisingly this book did not do that This was a very good paranormal love story in the gay for you plot family Not terribly uniue in all its points but enough so that it didn’t feel tired and certainly held my attention As usual in gay for you plots one main character is experienced than the other and someone always says “I’m not gay” but those two cliches aside the blossoming relationship between the men was well written and interesting There is a scene in their shifted form that was uite touching in a mostly non sexual way Their progressing sexual relationship is well written if a bit one sided for a little too long during the story To my disappointment it looks like the next story in the series may turn this happy couple into a mmf menage I was surprised when I hit the end of this e book this book is not as long as it appears

Black dragon Holden Antaeus isn't looking for a mate His life is filled with family work and dating Women adore him and he'. It was a relatively solid book but rather dull and with copious amounts of skimming One of the better points is that it had a believable vaguely legitimate GFY theme if a bit irritating I know a lot of reviewers didn't like it because of the ping pong match of 'We're mates' 'But I'm not gay' 'But we're mates' etc but it's understandable though I reiterate irritating that his head would be reeling from switching from a strictly heterosexual love life to being bonded with a man for the rest of his life I also liked the fact that they didn't jump straight into outright sex and there was a lot of annoying but appreciated angsting over the whole kerfluffle One of the things I didn't appreciate was the use of the word 'rape' once or twice in dialogue It's not horrific or anything there is no rape or talk of rape but I don't approve I dislike using that word but really there's no other word for it of the word being thrown around like that It irked me but it wasn't a huge dealThe characters were alright though I didn't feel any connection or empathy or sympathy or anything as a matter of fact for them But the writing was smooth and well done but the other things maybe not so muchOverall it was a solid read with a tolerable romance and likable characters if you tried hard enough but it didn't spark any firesRating Maybe than 25

I just wasn't in the mood for this one From the prologue it sounds like it might be better if the first two books both MF were read first Readerslisteners still get what's happening though so I suppose this can be read as a standaloneI felt it moved a bit too uickly and I didn't like the thought that Holden's brother was helping manipulate Holden into a situation to mate when he knew he was straight I felt Holden's relationship with Garrett lacked emotional development and their relationship progressed way too uickly I had issue with the dialogue too at times I felt it was just bad like the older Resident Evil games bad at timesThe narration was okay The narration felt monotone at times esp when there was no dialogue between characters The emotional injection in the dialogue for Garrett and Holden were great and I wished that was projected into the rest of the narration I got a little bored with the story and started skipping around in the audio book
