Sally Wentworth ¶ Candle in the Wind READER

Candle in the WindD to be her husbandBut Samantha had no proof no papers no ring no recollection of those deep blue eyes that kept staring intently into her own She wanted to believe him but how could she The thing with old school Harleuins is you sometimes have to take all the rapey stuff in stride Did I feel my blood boil as he threatened his amnesiac wife with sexual assault? Yes yes I did Did I recognize it as a sign of the times and breathe? No I drank a glass of wine and had a uiet mental breakdownSally Wentworth is one of my faves because of The Judas Kiss which I encourage everyone to read even if you don't like romance novels because it is truly breathtaking in all of its crackhead whackadoodle glory I honestly DARE YOU to read it and tell me you were bored It's deliciously crazy Candle in the Wind is less so Not only am I humming Elton John right now and feeling sad once again about Princess Diana but I'm also wondering why the woman on the cover looks middle aged when she's supposed to be like 19 and why everyone with money in books doesn't want any of it Give ME your jewels I will take themTruthfully this book is fairly entertaining I love a good shipwrecked on a desert island trope The heroine has amnesia but she's on the island with her husband who dearly wants to sex her and yet how can she? For she cannot remember Anything Not even what she looks like She might be ugly She's not she's blonde and thin and has honey toned skin in the grand tradition of Harleuin heroines everywhereThe story picks up a bit when they finally escape and nefarious meddling fathers enter the fray The hero is a likeable sort beyond the rapey stuff and I suppose I appreciated the way the heroine takes charge and tries her best not to be a colossal moron but again stop running away from moneyI will take your money
